About Lindsay Daneen

Lindsay Daneen is a communications and media professional with a passion for travel, telling stories, writing, and broadcast journalism.

A Philadelphia native, she moved to New York City at the age of 18 to attend St. John’s University in Queens, NY. While in pursuit of a B.S. in Communication Arts, she worked for the Office of Admissions as a Social Media Ambassador. This allowed her to document her freshman year including her Italian study-abroad experience, and more via Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

She continued to complete internships in various areas of media and communications including event planning, public relations, social media management, and content creation.

After graduating with her B.S. she continued her education at St. John’s University and received her M.S. in International Communication. During her graduate program, she co-hosted a radio show called The Grad Chapter on the WSJU school radio station. She used The Grad Chapter to gain experience in broadcast media and thoroughly enjoyed discussing celebrity news, pop culture, and life as a graduate student live on the radio airwaves.

After graduation, she and her radio co-host transformed their previous show into a YouTube show, Miss-Entertained. Their focus was covering weekly pop culture news and highlighting entertainers, musicians, influencers, and actors via interviews.

Determined to continue creating her own opportunities, Lindsay created her own IGTV show, Black of All Trades, with the intention of interviewing Black and Brown professionals of all careers and trades. She believed she had a duty to provide a platform not only for entertainers, but for successful business owners, doctors, etc.

She currently works for Columbia University in the Academic Affairs department. There she created and maintains their department newsletter, plans events, and academically advises students. She also cohosts 2 of Wide Awoke Media LLC’s podcasts on a weekly basis and works as a News/Pop Culture Journalist for Fork! The News, a Parisian pop culture and celebrity news website.

Lindsay hopes to eventually reach a point in her career where she does not have to choose between her media passions and can showcase her skills on a much larger scale.
